Restrained, mineral style focused on elegance with a white fruit character, some oatmeal and some complexity gained from percipient applied wood.

Selected from 11 small parcels of Chardonnay.

The wine rested in barrel for eleven months. A small number of artisanal coopers were selected, all from Burgundy and only French oak was chosen. Importantly, each clone and soil type was microvinified as separate batches. Each batch used an algorithm that we have developed to ascertain which coopers work best and how many new and used barrels are utilised. Overall, the average in 2023 was 34% new oak; 100% 228 l barrels.

This complex Chardonnay uses four different clones - CY95, 96, 76 and 548 - with the first of the quartet in the driving seat. Smoky, malty and comparatively rich in texture, this has

layers of oatmeal, chamomile, citrus and pear and a toasty finish. 2025-29 tangerine and undertones of cashew and vanilla spice. 2025-32.
